Questions about safety on campus? The Community Engagement Team at the University of Minnesota Police Department can provide services for community events and outreach.
The Community Engagement Team (CET) at the UMPD participates in community meetings, campus safety resources presentations, parent orientations, student orientations and many other national events; like National Night Out, Drug Take Back, Toys For Tots and more. The Police Department is interested in maintaining a strong connection to the community through respectful communication and partnership.
You can request a community engagement team member for presentations on Active Threat, Campus Safety Resources, Crime Prevention and Personal Safety by filling out a request form. We will try to accommodate as many requests as possible depending on our staffing levels. We would appreciate that these requests be made at least three or more weeks in advance. The function of this request is for community engagement and not event security.
Request a Community Outreach Officer or Presentation (including Active Threat)
The department also offers an online training on Active Threat Response. This training is open to all students, staff and faculty.
