Are you looking for an opportunity to work with a diverse community while gaining law enforcement experience? The University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus hires community service officers (CSOs) to support police officers. As a CSO, you will provide uniformed, unarmed public safety services and advise members of the University community regarding safe behaviors, ordinances, rules, and policies to promote a safe and inclusive campus.
This is a position designed to provide a career path into the law enforcement agency. This position is a two-year temporary post, with an option of becoming a permanent position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in an Associated or Bachelors program and at least one year of work experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal five years
- Able to pass a background check
- Valid driver’s license
- Must meet and maintain requirements for access to law enforcement sensitive information including CJIS Data Access Terminals
Compensation
- Starting Pay: $29.28/hour
- Premium Pay: Shift Differential
