The service is available all day, everyday (including holidays, breaks and summer semester).

To use the service, you can either call 612-624-9255(WALK) or make an online request via the at Safe Walk Request page. All you need to do provide is your name, your current location and your destination.

Wait times vary depending on demand, but typically your wait will be about 15 minutes.  We recommend calling or putting in your request 15-30 minutes before you need to leave.

The Rave Guardian Campus Safety App virtual escort is a service available to all students, staff and faculty.  Users download the app and register their profile.  The resource is easy to use.  Click on "Virtual Escort" and enter in your destination information.  You can invite friends and family to be you "Social Guardian" and they can monitor your trip.  When you arrive, you simply deactivate your timer.  If you do not arrive within the estimated time and your time expires, your social guardians and the Department of Public Safety will be alerted.

Your trip is not visible to Public Safety unless your timer expires before you deactivate it.  If your time expires, Public Safety will send someone to check on your welfare.
