Hours of Operation

8:00 PM - 1:00 AM, daily 

  • Service operates 7 days a week, year-round, except during University holidays, winter break, and spring break.

U Security's Gopher Chauffeur Ride Request

  1. Go to the Gopher Chauffeur ride request webpage.
  2. Sign in using your UMN login information and DUO
  3. Type your drop off location in the “I need a ride to…” box
  4. Type your current (starting) location in the “Pick me up at…” box
  5. Click Request Ride
  6. Select the number of passengers
  7. Enter your phone number
  8. ADA wheelchair-accessible van available. For riders who need this van, there is an option to select it when requesting a ride through the Gopher Chauffeur ride request webpage.
  9. Select "Confirm Ride"
  10. The webpage will show "Looking for a driver...". Continue to monitor the webpage for updates on the status of your ride such as "Your ride is on its way" or "Your driver has arrived at the pick up location"

Rider Experience

  • Request a ride through the Gopher Chauffeur App.
  • After requesting a ride, continue to monitor the webpage.
  • Wait times vary; typically, expect to wait approximately 20 minutes.
  • The webpage will update to show "Your ride is on its way".  You will then be ablet o see the location of the vehicle as it approaches your pick up location.
  • Be ready to depart before your ride arrives. Drivers will wait a few minutes for riders to arrive and meet them at the vehicle. If you do not meet the vehicle within five (5) minutes of its arrival at your location, your ride may be canceled and must be requested again. You will be able to see the location of the vehicle on the webpage’s map.
  • When the vehicle arrives, drivers will verify your name and destination.
  • Gopher Chauffeur drivers are University Security employees (primarily Student Security Monitors). Drivers wear black polos and high-visibility security jackets.
  • All riders must wear a seatbelt.
  • You can track your ride on the webpage during the trip.
    • Note: You will be driven to your end location with no additional stops!
  • Upon arrival at your drop off location, check that you have all personal items before exiting the vehicle.
