Requests for police reports and other public safety data, maintained by the University of Minnesota Department of Public Safety must be requested online via the University's Data Request Center at: https://umn.nextrequest.com/.  Please select "Public Safety/UMPD" for Department.

Call between 8:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Press five (5) at the prompt for a Call Center Representative.  Please have a pen and paper available when you call.

Several factors, such as the number of cases and the difficulty of a caller’s questions may add to the length of a call; however, on average, call length is less than three (3) minutes.  Peak call times include the first business day after a holiday weekend, Mondays, and daily over the lunch hour from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

If you believe you have received a parking citation in error for one of the situations below, you can request a review of the matter through the Citation Review Form.

  • Contract Parking, hold a valid contract
  • Issued a No-Tag via Parking and Transportation Services
  • Meter Malfunction
  • Reciprocal parking privileges

All other matters should be referred to the District Court: mncourts.gov
