Timely Warning-June 12, 2017
On Sunday, June 11 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Minneapolis Police responded to the report of a robbery along 15th Avenue SE south of Rollins Avenue SE.
According to the Police report, a group of eight suspects approached the victim and demanded valuables. The victim, who is a University employee, refused and one of the suspects hit him in the face with a baseball bat. The group then fled on foot southbound from the area and it was it was reported to officers that the suspects were possibly involved in other area robberies. Officers searched the area and arrested two suspects, both of whom are believed to have been involved in previous robberies in the area. The victim was treated at a local hospital.
The victim described the suspects who were not arrested as five black males and one black female, all approximately 12 to 15 years of age. One male was described as being five feet seven inches to five feet eight inches tall with short dreadlocks, and wearing a black shirt with writing on the back and gray pants. The female was described as five feet four inches to five feed six inches tall with a light build, and wearing a bare stomach shirt and shorts. Detailed descriptions of the other suspects are not available at this time.

The Department of Public Safety is required to issue Timely Notifications for crimes that meet the criteria under the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. This crime occurred off Campus and is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department.
