Annual Security Report and Fire Safety Report for the Twin Cities Campus
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is produced each year in compliance with the federal Clery Act and contains crime statistics for the most recent three-year period for reported crimes which occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The Twin Cities report contains information for both the Minneapolis and St. Paul Campuses.
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is prepared by the University of Minnesota Clery Compliance Coordinator in conjunction with the University of Minnesota Police Department, local law enforcement agencies, and a wide-range of individuals on campus who have been designated and trained as Campus Security Authorities.
In addition to crime statistics, the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes a wealth of helpful information. The report details how to report crimes occurring on campus, what to expect when a report of a crime is made, how to report the occurrence of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking and what to expect when a report of these crimes is made to the University of Minnesota Police Department or to the University of Minnesota Title IX Coordinator.
The report also includes information on primary prevention and awareness programs available at the University of Minnesota. These programs are aimed at preventing crimes before they occur- including information on safe and positive options for bystander intervention- and educating those in our community about the resources and support available if they witness or become the victim of crime.
